Episode 525 - And Now We Drink Episode 476: With Dani Synclair
Episode notes
Matt Slayer welcomes Dani Sinclair back to And Now We Drink for a gloriously chaotic, sleep-deprived, and brutally funny catch-up that swerves from industry burnout to dating disasters, dungeons, sensory overload, and the general collapse of modern society.
Dani opens up about feeling “overworked and under f***ed,” reflecting on her first year in entertainment, the pressure to say yes early on, and the ongoing process of figuring out what her brand really is. She and Matt dig into the realities of studio work, collabs, solo content, testing costs, fan engagement, and why creators often need to stop chasing everyone’s approval and make the work they actually want to make.
The conversation also gets into Dani’s work and the accidental invention of a “foot dentist” niche neither of them can fully un-imagine. From there, the episode tumbles into dating app frustrations, queer attraction, red flags, minions, rave recovery, cold vodka, ADHD, Adderall, and the eternal struggle of trying to be a hopeless romantic while hating feelings.
In true And Now We Drink fashion, Matt and Dani eventually veer into surprisingly thoughtful territory, taking on SW laws, age verification, criminalization, public registries, and why consenting adults remain such a political target. It’s messy, hilarious, unfiltered, and somehow insightful—exactly the kind of conversation that can only happen when the drinks are flowing.
